Patterns World specializes in pattern making and sample sewing for soft goods. Our evaluation and development services focus exclusively on the sewn fabric portions of a product.
Examples include medical and lifestyle soft goods, fabric bags, wearable accessories, sewn home products, carriers, covers, straps, and padded constructions. Each project is reviewed for fit.

Understand your project’s starting point before committing to development.
Please note: The $299 evaluation fee is non-refundable. If you decide to start your project and proceed to the next development steps with Patterns World within 30 days of your evaluation, the full $299 will be credited toward your project. If you do not proceed within that period, no credit or refund will be issued.

We review any sketches, tech packs, photos, samples, or prototypes you have to understand your starting point.
Understand purpose and goals
We discuss how the soft goods product needs to function, its current stage, and what you want to achieve.
Identify construction challenges
We identify preliminary fabric, fit, and sewn-construction considerations that may affect development.
Define our scope
We explain which soft goods work Patterns World can undertake and which components need outside specialists.
Recommend the next step
We discuss a practical next step and whether development with Patterns World is appropriate. Development is quoted separately.
Soft goods review and guidance only. Patterns, detailed design solutions, prototypes, sourcing, and production specifications are separate. Electrical and mechanical engineering are outside our scope.
How we begin

Start with a fit check
Share your product category, the soft goods work needed, current stage, budget range, and timing. Keep it non-confidential; no proprietary details or drawings are needed for this initial review.

Address confidentiality
If the project appears to fit our services, we can consider an NDA. Any requested NDA must be agreed and signed before confidential materials are shared. This initial review does not commit us to development.

Pay for your evaluation
Once fit and any NDA are addressed, we provide payment instructions and scheduling details. You pay Patterns World $299 before the appointment, where we review your project in detail.

Decide on development
Development is scoped and quoted separately. If you decide to start your project and proceed to the next development steps with Patterns World within 30 days of your evaluation, your non-refundable $299 fee is credited in full toward your project. Otherwise, no credit or refund will be issued.
A few things to know
Does your idea include electronics?
Our work is limited to the soft goods portion, such as a sewn cover, pouch, or carrier. We do not develop electronics, mechanisms, or rigid components.
When do we consider an NDA?
We first review a general, non-confidential description for fit. We consider NDAs for projects that appear suitable; signing is subject to agreement on the terms. Please wait to share confidential materials.
Is a prototype included in $299?
No. The evaluation covers review and guidance. Development is a separate service.
Does this include patent services?
We do not provide patent searches, legal advice, patent filing, or certification testing.
