A sewn prototype helps communicate a product’s structure, function, and construction. We develop structured patterns and professionally sewn samples so inventors can explore material selection, seam construction, and functional intent through a physical prototype.
For inventors working with a patent professional, patterns and prototypes can help communicate the sewn design. Patterns World Inc. provides soft goods development services; we do not provide patent searches, legal advice, patent filing, or certification testing.
From Invention Specifications to Fit-Specific Prototype
During the $299 Product Development Evaluation, we review the sketches, tech packs, measurements, functional requirements, samples, or prototypes you have. We discuss the soft goods construction considerations and recommend a next step.
If you proceed with separately quoted development, we translate the agreed specifications into patterns tailored to the intended sizing, proportions, and structure. For body-worn, adjustable, or other sewn products, development considers dimensions, balance, seam placement, and construction.
After the physical prototype and pattern are approved, pattern digitization can be included in your development scope. Digital pattern files record the finalized construction layout for sharing with your patent professional or manufacturer, and can support later revisions, size adjustments, and production planning.
If It Can Be Sewn on Industrial Machines — We Can Prototype It
We specialize in textile-based inventions that can be constructed using industrial sewing equipment. Examples include medical and lifestyle soft goods, wearable systems, adaptive or performance garments, bags, carriers, reinforced textile assemblies, covers, straps, padded constructions, and layered materials.
Our work draws on garment-industry pattern making and sample sewing across a range of fabrics, from delicate silks to heavier technical textiles. Each project is reviewed individually for suitability.
For products with electronics or other non-sewn components, our work covers the soft goods portion only. Electrical and mechanical engineering, electronics, mechanisms, and rigid-component development are outside our scope.
What You Will Receive
Development is a separate service from the $299 evaluation. Depending on the agreed scope and services selected, you will receive professionally sewn prototype samples, the engineered patterns used for construction, and digitized finalized patterns for future use. We also offer industry-standard sizing development and collaborative think-tank brainstorming to help refine your concept.
Detailed design refinement, pattern making, sample construction, sourcing, and production specifications are scoped and quoted separately. These deliverables are not included in the evaluation fee.

If you decide to start your project and proceed to the next development steps with Patterns World Inc. within 30 days of your evaluation, the full $299 will be credited toward your project. If you do not proceed within that period, no credit or refund will be issued.
